Yelp Dining Review - 01.18.2010
Oh my gosh - yummy! My first experience at Aqua Blue was awesome! The service was great, way above expectations. I checked yelp before going so we tried the tempura green beans and seared Ahi Tuna appetizers. The Ahi Tuna was great, would've been a bit better with a touch of ginger. The tempura green beans were perfectly flash fried, not too greasy or oily.
For dinner, my boyfriend had the wood-grilled filet and jalapeno cheese grits. He ordered it medium-rare and the first time it came more medium. So, we mentioned it to the server, Adam, and he brought a perfect steak back right away. I got the daily special, Red Snapper w/ Gnocchi, fresh vegetable over a pesto cream sauce. Yum! The pesto cream was to die for and the fish was great. Due to our troubles with the steak, they offered us a free dessert. We had the warm chocolate cake (lava cake) with vanilla bean ice cream and we also tried the coconut and blueberry sorbet, both very good.
Another great thing about Aqua Blue is there's no cork fee! Another couple we went with brought two bottles of awesome wine. The white went perfect with the fish and the red was great with the steak and chocolate cake. :) Can't wait to go again and try the scallops!
